Helpful Modifications and Tools: If your child is being hyperactive inside the home in a way that is threatening their safety, enlist the child’s help in outdoor activities that will channel their energy, such as gardening or washing the car. When the weather is warm, play a game of catch, go for a short hike, or take them swimming. In the winter, enlist their help in shoveling snow off a driveway or building a snowman.
